About
Pocket Verdict started as a group chat between four friends who kept arguing about which mobile games were actually good. Instead of losing those arguments in a messaging app, we decided to write them down and let other people join in.
We are not tied to any studio or store. Nobody hands us a script, and nobody tells us what score to give. When we pick a game to cover, it's usually because one of us got hooked on it during a commute or a lunch break and couldn't shut up about it.
Our process is simple and a bit stubborn. We play a game for several sessions before writing anything, long enough to hit the point where the first hour of charm either holds up or falls apart. Then one of us drafts the review and the rest of the team pokes holes in it.
We try to cover every corner of mobile gaming: brain-teasers, role-playing epics, tactical strategy, fast arcade runs, cozy simulations. If it runs on a phone and it's interesting, it's fair game for us.
Marek Dvořák — Marek has been reviewing mobile games for over a decade and still keeps three phones charged at all times. He runs the editorial side and insists every review passes the 'would I recommend this to my sister' test.
